Has been a while since I have updated.
Akri has been NAUGHTY NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!

On Friday July 28th, we came home from work and discovered that Akri had managed to escape from the crate!
He had also managed to do quite a bit of damage during the day.
He chewed a nice hole in the corner of the brand new rug and attacked our 6 ft palm plant.
There was dirt and leaves everywhere. He chewed up a pencil and took some things out of the bedrooms and moved them around.
We were very angry with him and frustrated, but realized that the crate hadn't been closed tightly and he was able to slide the door open and make his escape.

On Wednesday, Aug 2nd. I had just arrived downtown to go to work, when it suddenly occured to me that once again, I had not locked Akri's door properly. I quickly ran across the street and caught the next bus home again, even though I should have been going to work (Thank you to a very understanding boss)
I worried about it the whole way back to the house.

Sure enough, I unlocked the front door and there was Akri, lying on the rug, eating CHOCOLATES and enjoying himself. He has already chewed some of the plant again and spread dirt around the floor.
I scolded him and called the vet in a panic (knowing how lethal chocolate is for dogs) to find out what to do. He assured me that 3 pieces of chocolate were not going to do Akri any harm.
He had also chewed a hole in his portable water dish, grrrrrrrrr.

After work yesterday I went out and bought a big combination lock to put around the crate, so that the door can not slide past a certain point.
Should have thought have that sooner! Oh well.
